CONTROL|PRINT

CONSIDERING THE FUTURE OF INK ON PAPER

If ‘quality’ is to be a fundamental reason for print to exist, and ‘environmentally sustainable’ the watchwords in production, DOES THE DIGITAL PRESS REPRESENT A RETURN TO THE SENSIBILITIES OF A TRADITIONAL ‘CRAFT-BASED’ INDUSTRY, PRINTING MATERIAL OF BEAUTY ON DEMAND FOR THE MOST DISCERNING AUDIENCE?

This research explores this question from the perspective of a ‘creative practitioner’, by placing emphasis upon the importance of human skill and intervention in a process which has been hijacked by automation.
