Ripe have been working with Bradley and assisting with all his printed promotional items since 2006. The introduction was first made to the the business via George, who at the time personally sponsored a number of amateur motocross riders including Bradley via his website motox-collect.com.

After working his way to the top of the youth motocross championships, Bradley had an unfortunate incident in early 2004 which put him out of action for the remainder of the season. Determined to keep riding, he switched to road bikes and came 4th in the UK based MRO Aprilia Superteen Championship.

After attracting a huge amount of media attention at the age of just fourteen as the ‘motocrosser turned road racer’ he proved his potential by earning a position in the prestigious MotoGP Academy for the 2005 season based in Spain. The scheme set-up by the MotoGP govening body (Dorna) and run by Alberto Puig.

The accadamy was devised to nurture up and coming youth talent and assist riders to make the move into the MotoGP 125cc class. Bradley contested in the CEV Spanish 125cc Championship winnig the last three races and finishing 2nd overall. Bradley also won a round of the British 125cc Championship and finnished with a top ten overall despite missing many rounds due to his MotoGP Academy commitments.

In 2006 Bradley the hottest young prospect in road racing was signed up by Alberto Puig for the prestigious Repsol Honda Team to compete in the 125cc Class of the MotoGP World Championship and scored top 10 points in his first year.

After an amazing rookie season, Repsol Honda extended there contract for 2007. Throughout the year Bradley set many records including becoming the youngest ever British rider to finish on the podium at that time during the French GP in Le Mans and the first British rider since Clive Horton in 1978 to finish in the top ten in the 125cc World Championship Class.

With his succsess the previous year Bradley negotiated with PolarisWorld Aprilia for 2008 which resulted in a 6th position at the end of the season, whilst setting yet more records along the way including the 1st Pole Position in the 125cc class for a British rider since Chas Mortimer at the Belgium Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps in 1972.

Bradley was approached by Jorge Martinez to ride in his Bancaja Aspar Team for 2009, alongside Julian Simon. The deal also included an option to race in 250s for the team in 2010. Bradley won his first ever Grand Prix with a dominant performance at Jerez in May 2009. He also secured his first Pole Position of the season at Mugello in which he scored his second Grand Prix victory. Bradley finished second to his team-mate in the last three races of the season to end the series runner-up.

His second place finish in the 2009 championship is the best performance by a British rider in the 125cc class since Chas Mortimer was second to Kent Andersson in 1973. Bradley finished on the podium nine times, the highest number of podiums by a British rider across all solo classes since Phil Read had eight podium finishes in the 500cc class in 1975 and also scored the highest number of Grand Prix points ever achieved by a British rider in a single season!

In 2010, Bradley stated his ambition to move up to the new Moto2 class with Aspar, but unfortunately the team’s two seats were given to Julian Simon and Mike Di Megilo instead. A new deal was agreed to remain with the Aspar team in the 125cc class. Bradley finished fourth after an extreamly tough year fighting it out with Marc Marquez, team-mate Nicolas Terol and Pol Espargaro. Bradley still managed a few more great statistics with three pole positions and 12 front row starts, six final podium positions and won the final grand prix of the season in Valencia.

Bradley will compete in the Moto2 world championship in 2011 riding for the French based Tech3 Team. To follow Brad’s progress this season, check out www.bradleysmith38.com
