Quite a few of us at ripe are into our bikes, Rik’s got his Ducati, Clive’s got his Zoomer Scooter (is that classed as a bike?) and I’m into my off road bikes. I also run a motocross related website part-time and have sponsored a number of amateur riders over the last four years two of which are now professional. Bradley Smith is one of those riders and after working his way to the top of the youth motocross championships he had an unfortunate incident in early 2004 which put him out of action for the season.

Determined to keep riding, Bradley switched to road bikes and came 4th in the MRO Superteen Championship despite missing several of the rounds due to his motocross commitments. After attracting a huge amount of media attention as the ‘motocrosser turned road racer’ and was given the chance to ride in the MotoGP Academy in Spain for a year at the age of 14.

Bradley finnished 2nd in the CEV Spanish 125cc Championship and 10th in the British 125cc Championship despite missing many rounds due to MotoGP Academy commitments, In 2006, Bradley the hottest young prospect in road racing was signed up by the prestigious Repsol Honda Team to compete in the 125cc Class of the MotoGP and has scored top 10 points.

Weave won!

Monday, August 21st, 2006

IMG_5154.JPG Ripe Sweden won the Bath Design World Cup on Sunday - well, technically, we won the ‘Least Number of Points’ Award but, to us, that qualifies as a win. We also won the ‘Best Dressed Team’ Award which meant more to us than winning the tournament. :-)
Our team of nine started very poorly by losing the first three games and then, with John (from Orbit Digital) being sick in the bushes and having to retire for the day, we were down to 8. In the next game, Adam (from Ignition) damaged his knee which put him out for the rest of the tournament.
We played the six remaining games with no subsitutes but actually won one of them and drew two.
Click here for pictures of the day.
We would all like to thank Peter at Radio for organising yet another fantastic day.
