Weave won!

Monday, August 21st, 2006

IMG_5154.JPG Ripe Sweden won the Bath Design World Cup on Sunday – well, technically, we won the ‘Least Number of Points’ Award but, to us, that qualifies as a win. We also won the ‘Best Dressed Team’ Award which meant more to us than winning the tournament. :-)
Our team of nine started very poorly by losing the first three games and then, with John (from Orbit Digital) being sick in the bushes and having to retire for the day, we were down to 8. In the next game, Adam (from Ignition) damaged his knee which put him out for the rest of the tournament.
We played the six remaining games with no subsitutes but actually won one of them and drew two.

We would all like to thank Peter at Radio for organising yet another fantastic day.

We’ve moved!

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

IMG_5154.JPG After a very stressful and exhausting week, we have finally moved to our new offices in Corsham. The Indigo press was dismantled over Monday and Tuesday, moved on Wednesday and rebuilt Thursday/Friday, with the first ink on paper late Friday afternoon. We’ve laid over 300m of networking cable, laid in excess of 400 floor tiles and managed to fill six large skips full of rubbish that was left by the previous owners.
Thanks to everyone who’s helped, especially Pete the Plasterer, Webcox the roofers, Jay the Chippy, Planet Partitioning, Jaymart, Secom, HAG Security, Steve ‘geekier than rik’ VOIP guy at SGJ Solutions, Concorde Logistics, Sid, Guy and Andy from HP, Select Windows, Elkins Air Conditioning and, finally, Mike Penny ‘Dad/Project Manager’ without whom none of this would have got done.

We still have a lot to do but we are up and running and, hopefully, printing lots of your jobs from Monday.

Have a look at our Flickr site for pictures on the development of the unit and, remember, you’re all welcome to pop in for one of Nathan’s special coffees and a look around!

Bath Design World Cup

Adam 'Ljungberg' Lloyd-SvenIt’s that time of year again to live the World Cup Dream!
As official sponsers again, Ripe are entering possibly their strongest team yet.
At the draw on Thursday 29th June, Ripe were drawn as Sweden and somehow, Radio drew ‘England’ as their team.
In retaliation for Radio being drawn as England, we are bringing in a Swedish Ringer, known as Adam ‘Ljungberg’ Lloyd-Sven’.
You have been warned Radio…. Design World Cup Website

We are moving!

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

Blue sky thinking...That’s right – after 11 years of working with Park Lane Press we are moving to our super-duper new premises, just up the road in Corsham. Have a look at our Flickr pictures to follow the progress of converting a grubby, greasy ex. car garage in to a state-of-the-art modern print office.
